-- Social Media Manager --
Vinegar Syndrome is seeking a full-time social media specialist with an eye for detail and an enthusiasm for film for the position of Social Media Manager, working on-site at our Meriden, CT headquarters (remote workers should not apply). This position will support Vinegar Syndrome’s marketing goals by shaping the social strategy across all Vinegar Syndrome channels, as well as those of sister brands VS Press, Mélusine, and OCN Distribution. The Manager will further the company’s brand identity while also promoting our many releases, promotions, and events throughout the year. The position collaborates with colleagues across marketing, theatrical booking, home video distribution, customer service, and film archiving to drive audience growth and engagement and to meet operational goals.
Pay: $55,000+ Annual Salary (heavily dependent on experience)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute an organic and paid social strategy aligned with VS’s calendar of releases and promotions
- Collaborate with graphic designers and video editors on the creation and timely roll-out of assets
- Capture photo and video social content when appropriate
- Develop new social content initiatives to increase the engagement of existing and attract new customers/followers
- Monitor followers and social conversations, and interact when appropriate
- Monitor trends and track KPIs by developing a regular reporting cadence
- Ensure that all materials meet the highest standards of excellence and comply with VS’s voice, branding, and messaging goals and policies
- Proofread all text and assets

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing social media platforms
- Strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills with the ability to compose in the voice of the brand
- Command of social analytics
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace applications (Google Sheets, Google Docs)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Reliable self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills
- A demonstrated interest in film is a must
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits (health insurance, vacation/sick days, 401(k), etc.). The hours of work are typically between 9 AM and 5:30 PM weekdays, on-site in Meriden, CT.
