We always love to hear from our valued customers, but during our Black Friday sales we receive (literally) thousands of inquiries through our Help Center with various questions and concerns. In an effort to minimize the number of emails and tickets we receive during this hectic time, we have compiled the following list of answers to some of our more commonly asked questions. Remember, every query that we have to take time to answer is time taken away from our ability to ship out more packages. So, help us help you get your package quicker by taking a few minutes to read through the following. We hope this helps make your ordering experience with us as smooth as possible and we thank you in advance for your order!
When, where and what is the sale?
Our Black Friday sale is a yearly tradition for all fans of genre film! With an exciting slate of new disc releases, catalog slipcovers, brand new merch, and massive discounts on nearly our entire catalog, you won’t want to miss it!
The 2025 Slashed and Trashed Black Friday Sale kicks off Friday, November 28th at exactly 12:01 AM EST and runs through Tuesday, December 2nd at 11:59 PM EST. And yes, you read that right, we will be extending Black Friday through Tuesday this year for 5 full days of discounts, new releases and more!
Please note: Our site will be placed into maintenance mode on Tuesday the 25th (around 10 AM EST) to prepare for the sale.
What products will be on sale?
All VS, VS Sub-Label and Partner Label titles with a release date prior to May 2025 will be discounted for the duration of the sale. Discounts will range from 50-70% off the SRP of each release. Titles with release dates from May 2025 and on, will not be discounted, along with certain merch, clothing items, and some older Partner Label titles currently under distribution by another company.
What are the new releases?
We’ve already revealed our new releases of THE GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE, TIMECRIMES, SHAW SCARES: VOLUME 1, AT CLOSE RANGE, THE FILMS OF HISAYASU SATÔ: VOLUME #2 and REVIVER 1. Once the sale goes live, you’ll feast your eyes on:
- 2 new VS releases
- 2 new VSAs
- 1 new Cinématographe
- 1 new Distribpix
- 1 new Degausser VHS
- 3 Catalog Slipcovers

What are the Trash or Treasure Sweepstakes?
During each day of the Trash or Treasure Sweepstakes, our Vinegar Syndrome Media Club members will have the opportunity to redeem their hard-earned VSMC points for entries into the sweepstakes.
One lucky winner will be selected for each day, and will be announced on the following day around 12pm EST. Winners will receive a very special package containing a plethora of 'trash' + 'treasure'.
Entries will be gathered based on the day the sweepstakes entry was submitted. Example: If a customer submits 5 entries on Friday and 3 entries on Saturday, 5 entries will go towards the Friday drawing and 3 will go towards the Saturday drawing.
More entries submitted each day = better odds to be selected for that day. 200 points per entry.
Please note: Points used to enter the sweepstakes are non-refundable.
I already pre-ordered the new releases - what do I need to know?
Thank you for taking part in this year’s new Black Friday Flash Pre-order! If you already pre-ordered THE GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE, TIMECRIMES, SHAW SCARES: VOLUME 1, AT CLOSE RANGE, THE FILMS OF HISAYASU SATÔ: VOLUME 2, REVIVER 1, the All VS or Absolutely Everything packages, or the Secret Releases - you made the right choice! Now you will automatically have the free “Add to my existing order” shipping option enabled at checkout, and can start adding to your pre-order the moment the sale goes live!
Plus, securing those pre-orders means your package will be first to ship out, following our Subscribers.
All VS! Customers: You will be receiving The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, Timecrimes, Shaw Scares: Volume 1, the 2 Secret VS releases, the 2 new VSAs and the new VSL.
Absolutely Everything Customers: You will be receiving The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, Timecrimes, Shaw Scares: Volume 1, At Close Range, Reviver 1, the 2 secret VS releases, 2 new VSAs, 1 surprise Cinématographe, and 1 VSL.
Secret Release Customers: You will be receiving the 2 new, VS branded secret releases.

I am a VS Subscriber - what do I need to know?
Our yearly + midway Subscribers will automatically be receiving Timecrimes, Shaw Scares: Volume 1 and the two secret, VS branded releases. Please be sure to check the product description of each new title, as it will let you know whether or not you are receiving that title in your monthly package.
The Garbage Pail Kids Movie and At Close Range are available for purchase on the site with your 50% off SRP discount now. The 2 new VSAs, new Cinématographe release and new VSL will be available with your discount at the beginning of the sale.
Please keep in mind that the Black Friday sale is the last chance to pick up any 2024 VS Sub-Label releases with your Subscriber discount, as they will be hidden from the site after Black Friday and your Subscription will expire at the end of the year. Use your handy Subscriber shipping option to pick-up these titles and have them sent out with your November package!
How do I become a VS Subscriber?
We know most of you can’t wait to sign up for the 2026 Subscription, and your next chance will be during Subscriber Week in January! The first 7 days of the new year will be a celebration of all things VS, our yearly subscribers, and your only chance to sign up for the 2026 full year Subscription. More info coming soon!
Something I recently ordered is discounted for Black Friday - can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer partial refunds on fulfilled orders or price match on existing orders. If your full price item hasn’t been fulfilled yet, please place an order for the product at the discounted price and reach out to customer service. We can cancel and refund the original full price item.
When will my order(s) ship?
This is our first Black Friday in our brand new warehouse and we expect shipping times to improve significantly this year. That being said, Black Friday is our biggest event of the year and shipping out thousands upon thousands of orders takes time, no matter how streamlined the system is. Our warehouse crew will be working around the clock to ship out your orders, but please allow us through the end of December to get all orders shipped out.
Our customer service team is here to help with any issues and questions, but won’t know exactly when your order will ship. Please do your best to reserve all inquiries to order related issues or questions, and trust that your package will ship very soon. We promise we didn’t forget you and there are no issues with your order - we are always combing through orders to ensure everything is running as smoothly as possible.
If you no longer wish to wait for your order to ship out after the sale, you can contact us to cancel your order, no questions asked.
My order is a holiday gift, will I receive it in time?
While we can't guarantee your item(s) will arrive in time for the holidays, we will do our best to get everything shipped out in time. Securing a pre-order of one of the new VS titles before the sale is the easiest way to ensure your items arrive in time, as those orders ship out earlier in December. Plus, you will then be able to add to that order for free during the sale!
If you wish to purchase a currently in-stock item as a gift, we recommend purchasing it before the sale as it will ship later in December if purchased during Black Friday. Alternatively, we do offer Gift Cards on the site, emailed immediately to you or your loved one.
December is Partners Only Month!
For those who don’t know, December is Partners Only month - our chance to highlight our incredible roster of Partner Labels, while giving us a chance to focus on getting your Black Friday orders out. All VS titles (old and new) will be hidden through the end of the year, and only our Partner Label titles will be available for purchase.
Due to this year’s calendar, Partners Only 2025 will begin on Thursday, December 4th at 12:01 PM EST. Be sure to check back then to see what the labels have been cooking up!
Important note: Because of our new and improved order stacking system, Partners Only orders can now be added to your Black Friday orders! As long as you have an unfulfilled BF order, you can continue using the ‘add to my existing order’ shipping option during Partners Only month. We’ll combine all orders + ship them out together. Just keep in mind, once your BF order ships, your option to order stack will as well. If you would prefer your BF + Partners Only orders ship out separately, be sure to place a separate order with shipping paid.
